This 1950s postcard shows a west view of Fifth Avenue South, just one block from Four Corners.  As early as 1905, Naples was also called Naples-on-the-Gulf, perhaps as a way of emphasizing its beachfront location.  In 1954, Dewey Polly used this name as the call sign for his radio station WNOG, “Wonderful Naples-on-the-Gulf.” (Courtesy of Nina H. Webber)
