During their 1912 visit to Naples, John Hachmeister’s group enjoyed all the amenities of the resort town, and Hachmeister enthusiastically wrote on this photograph, “Delightful Bathing in Naples, Fla.” The pier and its freight lift, often used for hoisting large fish, are visible in the background, and a small steamer has just left the dock.
